Loreto Bay Homes Info

We look forward to welcoming you to our friendly and safe community.  This is THE PLACE TO BE!!

The Water is safe to drink in Loreto from the tap.  Many people prefer bottled water but there are no problems to use the tap water for washing vegetables, coffee, brushing teeth, etc.

Loreto is on Mountain Time, one hour ahead of West Coast Pacific time.  Often in Mexico the hot and cold water taps are reversed, if the left faucet does not give you HOT water after a few minutes, try the right faucet as the pipes may be crossed.  Upstairs showers can take a few minutes to receive the hot water and it is recommended that you let the sink or shower run hot for a few minutes before using. “C” is for Caliente (HOT) not Cold as in English.

Our community is very safe and you will see our friendly Security Guards around each neighborhood.  Their English is sometimes limited, but they always enjoy saying hello and try to assist when they can.  The Security Office is located in unit FN349 and it is open 24x7. Please see them for after hour emergencies and they will contact us or assist you immediately.  They are CPR trained.

The Associa Offices are located in unit FN350 on the paseo and are the Administrator of the Home Owners Association.  They govern the rules and regulations established for the Villages of Loreto Bay.

PETS allowed.  We are a pet friendly community and it is important that all dogs be on a leash.  Pets are not allowed in the Community Center or businesses serving food for health reasons.  There is a $100 USD fine for not picking up after your dog, so be sure to carry plastic bags.

The Founders Community Pool is located behind the Wine Cellar.  This beautiful heated pool with spa is tucked away out of the wind with comfortable lounges, pool bathrooms, and outdoor shower.  The Sub J Community Pool is located behind homes in Aqua Viva.  The 25 meter Lap Pool is located near the beach … turn right at Vive Tours on the boulevard and head towards the beach.  These are for the use of the Loreto Bay owners and guests.   You are permitted to bring food and drinks, but no glassware.  Bring your own towels and please do not reserve loungers.

Note:  Driving on Baja Highways.  The left turn signal indicates to the car/truck behind you that it is safe to pass.  It is recommended that when you slow down to make a left hand turn into the south entrance of Loreto Bay that you use the HAZARD lights to indicate caution to other drivers so that they will be aware that you are slowing down or turning. Then pull onto the right hand shoulder and wait for oncoming traffic to pass and it is safe to make the left hand turn.  HAZARD lights are commonly used to indicate construction, animals, or other hazards.

When using the main entrance where the orange Fonatur Symbol is location, proceed from town into the RIGHT hand exit lane, wait for traffic to clear in both directions, and then safely cross the highway.   DO NOT turn left from the highway into this entrance directly as it is very dangerous.

TIPPING is called Propina in Mexico and much appreciated especially in Loreto.   Wages are very low and our tourist season is a short six months a year.  Your appreciation of the friendly service will ensure that you are remembered and taken care of with the hospitality that we locals know and love.  We recommend 15% to 20% as cost of food & beverage is very small compared to all other areas.  For tour guides and random acts of kindness, propina is a welcome token of acknowledgement.
